Yamaha Dtxplorer Electronic Drum Set

!±8± Yamaha Dtxplorer Electronic Drum Set

The Yamaha Dtxplorer Electronic Drum Set has to be one of the most user-friendly, well priced and versatile drum kits on the market. This kit suits both the beginner looking to get into drumming and not knowing where to start as well as the professional who is looking for a quieter smaller kit to add to their quiver of drum kits.

As with all electronic drum kits, the Yamaha Dtxplorer Electronic Drum Set provides the user with a lot quieter experience than what they're used to with their acoustic drum kits. With a decent set of headphones, you can happily play your drum kit at any time of the day and even if you leave close to your neighbors, these types of kits won't bother them. Plug in your mp3 player and play along with your favorite artists and see how your drumming stacks up. If you're not up to playing along to an mp3, then you can also play along to the many demo songs which are pre-programmed into the Dtxplorer trigger module which is essentially your control center for an electronic drum kit. The demo songs range from jazz to reggae and you can mute the drums of these songs so that you can play along with them uninfluenced by what you can hear.

If you're having trouble keeping time, the Dtxplorer comes with an inbuilt metronome or click track. The tempo can be set on the trigger module yourself or a great way to do it is to count in your own tempo. Do this by setting the 'tap tempo function' and then hitting any pad on the dtxplorer to the tempo you want the metronome to come in at. This is a great function if you're more of a 'play by feel' type drummer. As well as this 'counting in' method, you can also set the metronome sounds, tune and also create breaks in the click track.

Also another great idea that Yamaha have come up with if you're looking to improve your playing is the 'groove check function'. This essentially does as its name suggests. It scores you after you play along with a song or the metronome and lets you know your timing compares withe the clock on the song or metronome. This is a great feature for all beginner and advanced drummers as speeding up during a song (especially in live songs) can really ruin the tempo of the band. Also, if you're about to record songs in a studio, practicing with this can really improve your timing for when you lay down the drum tracks on which all other instruments are based.

Finally, the Yamaha Dtxplorer Electronic Drum Set can be transported easily from home to a gig or to a rehearsal room and back again. The kit easily folds in on itself and as long as you look after the cords, you'll never go back to your acoustic kit. They also sound great through a PA system at live gigs which is another great option if the venue you're playing at is small and the drum stage is narrow.
